Lucky magazine featured Macedonian fashion designer, Risto Bimbiloski, in “The Best New Designers” feature in the September 08 issue. (By the way, US star Milla Jovovich is on the cover. She’s half Serbian and Russian).
Growing up in Macedonia had an unexpected advantage for Risto Bimbiloski: “It’s a culture of knitting,” he says. And one that he clearly soaked up: The 33-year-old, who has also been the men’s knitwear designer for Louis Vuitton for the past four seasons, has a knack for clothes that feel uncontrived and effortless, despite surprising flourishes like bold hardware or a mix of different weaves. “I aim for versatility,” he says. “Like the big, visible zipper-it can be sensual or sensible depending on how open or closed it is.”
