Unfortunatley Novak Djoković’s run at the US Open has come to an end. Djoković defeated Andy Roddick in the quarterfinals on Friday and moved to the semi-final round today, playing against Roger Federer. Maybe it was the inclement hurricane weather but it was not Novak’s day. It was a close game but Federer beat Djoković in the fourth set.
Now for the good news. Jelena Janković defeated Elena Dementieva yesterday in the women’s singles semi-final. Not only is this Jelena’s first time advancing to final rounds in the US Open but she has made it to the final! This is exciting tennis. The women’s singles final was scheduled for today at 7pm but due to bad weather from all the hurricane activity on the east coast it was cancelled. Stay tuned to see what the weather brings tomorrow. Hopefully the dangerous hurricanes will lessen and the US Open will be on again.
